If You’re Searching For The Right Words…
… to tell your business’ story
… to establish yourself as the expert in your industry
… to set yourself apart in a crowded, competitive marketplace, and
… to help your business WIN
… YOU’VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE.
Here’s the bottom line: every business depends on words. Words inspire your team, differentiate you from competitors, and help you find and keep your perfect customers.
As a highly-trained business copywriting specialist, I supply the wordcraft that makes my clients’ businesses stand out on the web (and elsewhere in the marketplace) like a roaring campfire in a dark, cold wilderness.
I’ve been a professional writer since, at the age of 13, I pedaled my bike across town (a very small Colorado mountain town) and talked the local editor into making me a reporter. He agreed to pay me the handsome sum of twenty cents for each and every column inch of copy I wrote… and to teach me how to use words. How to really use words… to capture the imagination, to drive inspiration, and to compel action in a way only great writing can.
(NOTE: MY RATES have grown up, along with me. Fair warning.)
I went on to an award-winning career as a writer, serving as newspaper editor for the 82nd Airborne Division and in civilian life. Since then, it’s been all business for me, as my writing has contributed to (some would say “saved”) small and medium-sized businesses throughout Colorado and beyond.
I’ve learned that most writers can tell a story. Exceptional writers, though, know how to sell a story in a tough and discriminating business world.
Great businesses depend on great writing.
And now you have a great writer at your disposal…
… A critically-acclaimed published author… an expert with proprietary “secret sauce” in audience analysis… a globally-recognized consultant who’s advised the world’s best-and-brightest business people…
… A TOP GUN marketer on your team whose whole reason for getting up in the morning is to get results for your business!
Nobody understands the market for winning copywriting better than Michael.

World-Class Education And Experience
In Business And Writing
As a Partner with Lore International Institute, Michael’s (and his firm’s) biggest client was McKinsey & Company, the world’s leading “men in black” business consultancy. McKinsey, staffed by thousands of the best and brightest minds throughout every nation and industry on Planet Earth, looked to Michael for leadership and interpersonal skills teaching, coaching, and counseling. Michael worked with consultants from every level of the organization, and served as Lead Faculty for the McKinsey account, training and coaching the other members of the McKinsey faculty team. Oh… and he also wrote a lot of the training programs and materials used by Lore to delight its clients and excel at everything the firm did. Michael is an honor graduate of the United States Department of Defense Information School, and holds an M.S. in Organizational Management from the University of Colorado.
Expertise In “Profiling” Your Ideal Audience
Michael’s the author of some of the business world’s best material on leadership through empathy, and is a qualified expert in personality type and audience analysis. He uses his deep skill in personality analysis, particularly through his expertise with the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator,™ to help you beat your competition in influencing your copy’s target audience. You need to inform your ideal prospects, involve them, intrigue them, and inspire them… and Michael knows better than anyone how to create the right blend of these key elements to make your copy WIN.
More Than Just A Business Writer
Michael has a creative side, too. He’s the author of several works of fiction, including the critically-acclaimed holiday novel The 95th Christmas. He’s a freelance writer, singer, and songwriter, and serves as Regional Director for The Original Dickens Carolers (perhaps the world’s premier holiday entertainment organization – certainly Colorado’s oldest and largest). He moonlighted at dinner theaters during his Army days, and went on to garner sizzling reviews during his career as a singer/actor in the Denver area in the 1980s and 1990s. Michael wrote his first musical, Two Cents Plain, when he was twenty. It was a flop. But hey! Twenty!
With The Health Market For Men 50+
Nutrition? Michael’s used every nutritional program you can think of, from Atkins to Herbalife to vegetarianism. Exercise? He’s done “Body For Life” – the whole program – at least two dozen times… and “Insanity” more than a dozen times. If there’s a fitness supplement out there for seasoned guys, he’s probably used it. And all of this since he passed forty! Michael can write to the health/fitness market for men over fifty, because he knows that market well. He IS that market!
On The Personal Side
Later, when you’re playing Michael Hume Trivia with your family and friends, here are some little-known facts that’ll amaze and astound them:
On the bookshelves in Michael’s office, you’d find the complete works of Martin Luther, as well as the complete written works of Abraham Lincoln. A few copies of The 95th Christmas are there, too… signed by the author and waiting to put you in a holiday mood, any day of the year.
On the piano in his studio, you’d see a few scratchy, hand-written lead sheets from some of the 200 songs Michael has penned… everything from Christmas tunes like Bell On A Holiday and Jingle Bell Jungle Ball to R&B numbers from his old acappella group, The LoDo Air Band (which was slightly-famous for one of Michael’s originals, Funky Monkey).
In his side of the fridge, you’d find lots of proteins… but very few carbs. Michael’s a low-carb kinda guy.
You’d see reminders, all over the house, of some of Michael & Wife Kathryn’s favorite things: The Denver Broncos, The Colorado Rockies, Christmas (of course), and Don Quixote.
And in the backyard, you’d see the fire pit and stone benches where he and his wife like to enjoy the blazing western sunsets they’re blessed to witness nearly every evening.
Michael and Kathryn spend some time helping with the care of elderly family members these days. They are joined at home by their wonderful and beloved dog, Holly.
