QUEST: August 2

Arrival

I walked eight miles today and arrived at the Monastery of Christ in the Desert, where there’s no formal check-in policy… I just went to the guest room I’d reserved, and found my instructions there.

So I’m here.

What, already?

My Big Walk has filled me with so many amazing insights and reflections that I don’t think I can quickly process it all.  So, luckily, I’ll have three weeks here to get a start on that.

I’m planning on doing a lot of reading – even more than I’ve been doing every day – and to do more writing than I’ve had the energy to do these past few days.  I have a lot of ideas that need to be committed to paper as soon as I can do it.

I think it best that I let my blog “rest,” too, until I get home.  I then intend to flood you with the “harvest” I’m able to bring home, and there’s still much more to be gleaned.

I’ll be taking notes!

So, please: check back in around the 26th or so.  If you’ve read and followed this far, I’m sure you’ll enjoy what I get back to you with after my rest time here.

Once again, thanks for following my Quest.  If you’d like to respond, please post a comment here, or  send an email to michael@michaelhume.net.  Either way, I look forward to reading your views when I return to my screen in late August.

Baited breath, brother. Can’t wait to hear the stories. But it’s after the 26th….

My legs are sore just reading about your trek to the Monastery! I’m looking forward to getting an update and reading your thoughts on your 3 week experience in seclusion in your room inside the Monastery!
