QUEST: July 29

Escalante

Today I walked from one turnout to another – 12.8 miles to where Kathryn parked Quester while I was walking.  Thanks, Wife!

I mentioned that Kathryn’s 50th high school reunion is this year.  Mine comes up in 2028.  If we have a high school class reunion, I’ll enjoy going.  But my best memory from my senior year was the spring break hike a group of us took through the Escalante Canyon in Utah.

THAT would be a great reunion!

If any of my fellow hikers are reading this, how ‘bout it?  Let’s try to get the gang back together in four years!

I’m not suggesting we hike the canyon again, at age 68.  But we could at least get together and reconnect.

Okay, we could hike for an hour or two.  But after this Quest, I’m not sure how much more walking I’m going to want to do.

Then again, some of us might be up for repeating the challenge!  Why limit ourselves?  Cocktails for some, bug spray and freeze-dried food for others!

Thanks for following my Quest.  If you’d like to respond, please post a comment here, or  send an email to michael@michaelhume.net.  Either way, I look forward to reading your views when I return to my screen in late August.
