QUEST: July 22

Motels

Today I walked 9.1 miles to a little town that has one open motel, and I’ll be staying there tonight.

Let me say that Kathryn and I are spending a few thousand dollars just on motels in order for me to undertake this Quest.  So we looked for the most economical motels we could find.  This is one of the cheapest, and it’s basic, to say the least.

Nevertheless, I’m extremely grateful it’s here, and that there was “room in the Inn” for me.

The really great news is that it happens that Kathryn needs to stay with me tonight!  She’s too far away to go home, and her reservation at the next base-camp motel doesn’t start until tomorrow.  So… yay!  One more night with the Wife.

This is the last time I’m sure to see Kathryn before she comes to pick me up at the monastery at the end of the Quest.  So, even though most folks would say this is not the nicest motel they’ve seen, it’s a palace for me tonight.

Because The Queen will be in residence!

Thanks for following my Quest.  If you’d like to respond, please post a comment here, or  send an email to michael@michaelhume.net.  Either way, I look forward to reading your views when I return to my screen in late August.
