QUEST: July 8

Questing

I’m back it, following a relaxing weekend of resting my feet.

Today, I ease back into the walking part of the Quest by doing one of the shortest walks of the entire trip to the monastery – only 7.6 miles – and I do get to sleep indoors again tonight.

Here’s an interesting thought I’ll share: I may have undertaken this nutty Quest because I thought it was my quest to find God.  But maybe, just maybe, it’s His quest to find me.

God’s never lost.  But I, like the rest of us (I suppose), get lost all the time in the “cares of the world and the deceitfulness of riches.”  (That’s in the Bible somewhere… I just read it the other day.)

I pray He will continue “walking in my garden in the cool of the day,” so to speak, and calling for me.  And I pray I’ll hear His call, drop my fig leaves of shame, and carefully listen to what He wants me to hear.

Thanks for following my Quest.  If you’d like to respond, please post a comment here, or  send an email to michael@michaelhume.net.  Either way, I look forward to reading your views when I return to my screen in late August.
